Metro Federation of Churches History
Circa 1960 – 2006
Rev. Henry McKinnon had a vision. He believed that in unity there is strength, so he called together a few good men who were pastors of churches with a small membership and formed the “Church Aid Ministers Federation.”  The mission was that these churches would support each other financially and spiritually.  This was done through monthly services with the host church receiving the offering.
In the 1980’s the name of the federation was changed to “The Metro Federation of Churches” and bi-laws and constitution was written under the supervision of Rev. Nolan Pitts.  The following churches and pastors have been associated with the Metro Federation:
Friendship Baptist, Antioch Baptist, Zion Church of Jesus Christ, Mt. Herman, Gorman Memorial, Mt. Tabor AME, First Born, Taft of Nazarene, Orlando Holy Baptist, Mt.Calvary Baptist.
Rev. N. Pate –served one year as president, Rev. E. Pugh, Rev. S. Lovett, Rev. W. D. Judge, Rev. A Palmer, Rev. A Dean, Rev. A. Williams, Rev. J. Williams, Rev. N. Pitts, Rev. L.C. Clark, Rev. S. Williams, Rev. O.A. Cobb, Elder Reed, Rev. J.Vereen, Rev. T.Gaines.
Although there have been changes in membership and pastors, there has never been a change in the vision and mission.  Many churches and pastors have been blessed through the fellowship of the Metro Federation and the inspirational leadership of Rev. Dr. Henry McKinnon.
